How It Began
In 2016, Anchor Cottage Tutorial began at the nudge of a couple of parents and the Lord. The calling to create a space for children to learn in a home setting with a biblically based curriculum was prevalent. What wasn't expected was how our community grew and flourished under the providence of God. Not only were we teaching the basic subjects, but the students began to take on more responsibility, learn life skills, and actually began to teach us that childhood is such a special and formable time for young Christians. We are so blessed by this community and the opportunity that God has given us to minister, teach, and learn.

What is a Cottage Tutorial?
There is so much information out there about cottage schools/tutorials. It can often be overwhelming for novice and veteran homeschoolers alike. After seven years of running our own cottage tutorial, we've better understood what makes a fabulous program. After a combined experience of fifty years of homeschooling/teaching, we've seen the major benefits! Listen below to our teacher's chat about Anchor Cottage Tutorial and the beautiful world of homeschooling your children.
Our Vision
Anchor Cottage Tutorial is a biblically-based, Christ-centered, service-oriented cottage tutorial. We meet in a home setting utilizing a mix of traditional and classical approaches. Kids learn from “doing” rather than just memorizing. Learning will be hands-on in all areas with real-world applications. Children have a natural wonder in them and we want to foster that, not stifle them. Our goal is to teach to the point of need in each child.

What We Believe
We believe in One true God, existing as God the Father, God the Son,
and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in God’s Holy Word-Old and New Testament.
We believe all scripture is God-breathed and is the supreme authority
in which we base everything.
We believe that Jesus Christ died for us as a substitutionary sacrifice for us.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God.
